We want to make your shopping experience easy and comfortable, so we will do all we can to ensure your order will be secure and safe, and that your purchases will be enjoyed for years to come. If in doubt, please just ask and we will do everything we can to help you.

No-quibble Returns Policy

From the date of shipment, you have 30 days to evaluate your purchase. Provided it has not been damaged, used or worn (other than to try on for size) and no labels have been removed, you may return it in its original packaging for a full refund, or exchange at your discretion.

This applies to all goods EXCEPT those made-to-order (e.g. most tartan products and including cut fabrics) which will be refunded or exchanged only if defective or not conforming to details explicitly advertised on our site. This does not affect your legal rights.

Please note that we will refund our original shipping charges or the costs of your return (e.g. postage or re-import duties) only if the goods are in some way faulty. For other returns you will be responsible for all return costs, including any re-importation duties or other taxes.

We can only refund to the same credit card used for purchase; if this has expired, refunds will be by bank transfer or cheque in GBP only.

Important: if you do wish to return an item, please contact us to make arrangements before sending it, using the returns system provided in our Members' area. Failure to do so may result in unnecessary costs to yourself, as well as extra delays.

Information on the web site

We make every attempt to ensure that our on-line catalogue is as accurate and complete as possible. To let you view our products in detail, and as every computer monitor is set differently, some products may display larger or smaller than their actual size. Where possible, actual sizes are detailed with each item. Colours may vary slightly both due to minor errors from reproduction and variability of displays. Our objective is to provide you with as much information and detail about your prospective purchase as possible so that you can see the beauty and shape of a particular item.

Tartans in particular can vary significantly. The same tartan may be woven by more than one mill using differing dyes and thread counts (patterns), or shades may change from one batch to the next. Even the same tartan from the same mill may differ according to the weight or material. In general the heavier the weight, the larger the sett (pattern size) will be. So, for example, a kilt and tie of the same name may not match exactly.

Availability and Pricing

Because our product selection is large, product availability and pricing might change before we have an opportunity to update our Web site. Occasionally prices may be inaccurately displayed on our site due to system errors. While we make every attempt to avoid these errors, they may occur. We reserve the right to correct any errors when they do occur. Prices are determined on the date that the goods are charged. We reserve the right to alter the prices quoted on the on-line store in light of fluctuating supply prices, exchange rate movements or for any other reason beyond our reasonable control.

Order Confirmation

Placing an order for goods via our web site does not constitute a contract of sale; this includes any automated confirmation messages you may receive. Once your order has been received and charges verified we will manually check its details and contact you to confirm the acceptance of your order which will constitute the completion of our contract to supply. However, we reserve the right to cancel the contract at any time thereafter should this be necessitated by circumstances beyond our control. In this event we will try to contact you as quickly as possible with a full explanation.

Taxes & Duties

Value Added Tax (VAT) is charged automatically on qualifying goods for delivery within the EU or European Economic Area; certain goods such as children's clothing may be exempt. Deliveries to other areas of the world (including North America) are exempt and are charged at ex-VAT prices.

In our experience, overseas deliveries mostly arrive without further duties or taxes being charged. But your local customs authorities may charge import duties in individual cases. Like all international retailers, we can take no responsibility for such taxes, or for any goods seized by import authorities due to local regulations, such as concerning organic matter or weaponry. If you are in any doubt, please check with your local authorities before placing any order.

Scotweb Points

Scotweb Points are distributed at our discretion and may also be withdrawn or withheld for any reason. Points have no equivalent cash value, are non-transferable, and may only be redeemed against the product value (excluding VAT or shipping charges) of purchases from Scotweb Store and some of its sub-sites (though other specialist sites may not accept Scotweb points for payment, in which case you should use the main scotwebstore.com site to use your points, where the same products are on sale at the same price). Points can only be spent while logged in online, at the Checkout, and cannot be used for phone orders etc. Only Points shown in your Member's account as available to spend at the time of any transaction are valid, and no corrections can be made later. Points spent in whole or part-payment for purchases discounted under any other Scotweb special offer will negate that discount, and their use for any purchase will negate any affiliate or other third party earnings associated with that purchase.

Fraud

We sometimes make offers under special conditions, such as introductory deals available only once per person or per household, or subject to qualifying criteria such as previous purchases. Any attempt to take advantage of such offers in contravention of the terms and spirit of these offers, including applications using different personal identities, may be deemed to be fraud. We reserve the right to permanently blacklist anyone we suspect of having deliberately made such an attempt, or any other type of apparent fraud, as well as to take any further legal steps we consider appropriate.

Under no circumstances shall Scotweb Marketing Ltd be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages of any kind, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict product liability or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. If we explicitly or implicitly undertake to provide any product or service by any deadline we do so in good faith as a goodwill gesture without prejudice but we accept no responsibility for any direct or indirect costs or consequences of our failure to meet any such deadline even if by our negligence. Any disputes shall be settled under Scottish law. Any interactions with Scotweb, including any purchases and all communications, are subject to the above understanding which you are agreeing to by contacting us in any way including placing an online order.
